Camerawork in Rap/Hip-hop

Usually in rap music videos there are often a lot of close/very close ups on the main artist in the song. This is to show that the artist is the most important as well as to help sell the artist, which links to Goodwin's theory. An example of this is this very close up of Professor Green in his 'Jungle' music video.


The camera also looks up at the artist a lot as well as shown in the Youngen music video, because it makes it look like the artist has power over the audience and they are trying to intimidate anyone watching the music video.
